The former Platform Fee is now called the Buyer Protection Fee.
For purchases of discounted gift cards, the Buyer Protection Fee is calculated based on the cards' discount range.
What are “Savings”?
“Savings” is the difference between the total face value of your gift cards and the total price you pay.
Buyer Protection Fee Rates:
| Discount Range | Fee Rate |
|---|---|
| 0% – 5% | 10% |
| 6% – 10% | 12% |
| 11% – 15% | 15% |
| 16% – 20% | 18% |
| 21% – 25% | 20% |
| 26% – 30% | 22% |
| 31%+ | 25% |
The fee is calculated as a percentage of your total savings and will be clearly displayed before checkout.
Example:
If you purchase gift cards with a total face value of $1,000 for $880, your savings are $120 (a 12% discount). Based on this discount range, a 12% Buyer Protection Fee applies—resulting in a fee of $14.40.
The Buyer Protection Fee applies only to discounted gift cards. No fee is charged for cashback cards or cards with no discount. The Buyer Protection Fee is fully refundable if the transaction is refunded.
