Form 1099-K is an IRS information return that includes the gross amount of all payment transactions you received within a calendar year. Please note that your 1099 form is issued electronically via Avalara Track 1099. Forms are typically made available by January 31 and can be accessed securely through this IRS-approved platform.
If you sold gift cards on GCX, you may receive a Form 1099-K if your account meets IRS reporting requirements. For the 2025 calendar year, a 1099-K is issued if both of the following thresholds are met:
- Gross payment volume exceeds $20,000, and
- The total number of transactions exceeds 200
Eligible recipients will receive an email from Avalara Track 1099 with instructions on how to access their form. If you do not receive an email by February 5, it likely means you did not meet the reporting thresholds.
Filing requirements for some states might differ from federal requirements, therefore GCX collects SSN / TIN information for all payouts greater than $600 and files according to the individual state guidelines. State filing thresholds can be found on state tax authority pages.
